The London International Conference on Education (LICE) is an international
refereed conference dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practices
in education. The LICE promotes collaborative excellence between academicians
and professionals from Education.
The aim of LICE is to provide an opportunity for academicians and professionals
from various educational fields with cross-disciplinary interests to bridge the
knowledge gap, promote research esteem and the evolution of pedagogy.
The LICE-2012 invites research papers that encompass conceptual analysis,
design implementation and performance evaluation. All accepted papers will
appear in the proceedings and modified version of selected papers will be
published in special issues peer reviewed journals.

Presented by ArtisTree Gallery and Pentangle Arts Council, in conjunction with the Bookstock Festival in Woodstock, VT. Open to all 2D and 3D, installation, and assemblage artists who are working in New England or New York. Cash prizes awarded. Daniel Kelm, juror.

Call for Entries is now open for the San Diego Book Arts Fourth National
Juried Exhibition, to be held at Mandeville Special Collections, Geisel
Library, University of California, San Diego, May 26 - July 8, 2012. A full
color catalog will be available for purchase.
Juror: Carolee Campbell inaugurated Ninja Press in 1984. She illustrates,
hand sets in type, prints and binds each edition of books. She is deeply
committed to making the beautifully executed book as well as to the
continual investigation of form using unusual materials, thereby harnessing
both as expressions of book art for the 21st century. For more information,

Awards: Cash prizes totalling $1000 will be awarded at the opening
reception.
Eligibility: Artists must live or work within the USA. All structures of
artists¹ books, unique or limited edition are eligible. Due to case size and
exhibition space, work may not exceed 30 inches in any one dimension, and
the sum of all three dimensions may not exceed 48 inches.
Submission Requirements: Submission must include completed online entry
form, images, and fee. Each artist may submit up to 3 works.
Fee per Artist: $25 for San Diego Book Arts members, $35 for non-members.

In, On, Of Paper, due April 6, 2012
Call for entries for a juried exhibition to be held at Paper Circle in Nelsonville, Ohio. "In, On, Of Paper" will be held from May 25, 2012 – August 1, 2012. Entry is open to any original work in, on, or of paper including handmade paper, paper sculpture, artist's books, cut paper, stitched paper or works on paper. This year's juror is Eileen Wallace. You are invited to present at the 3rd Global Interaction in Design Conference to be held virtually on November 7, 2012. GLIDE is a biennial, virtual conference that disseminates cutting-edge research on topics related to interaction between designers and global communities. The purpose of a virtual-only format is to bridge cultural and geographic divides in an eco-friendly way.
GLIDE12 will promote research and critical thinking on international issues surrounding food, nutrition, and health. Potential topics include but are not limited to:
- Challenges or rewards of food production and consumption
- Hunger and the human ability to survive in diverse agricultural environments
- The culture of food systems globally
- The role of culture, technology, sustainability infrastructures, and eco-systems in addressing the issue of hunger and nutrition and the pursuit of good health.
- Best practices for the development of food systems through the use of language and data collection
- Agribusiness as a resource for information that best serves local farmers and community based greenhouse projects
- Collaborative teams and methods for the creation of more effective food systems
- The role of social media to manage food systems, good nutrition, and health
- The role of public policy makers to increase better systems with food displacement
- The role of art and design in effecting good health or engendering healthy habits
Today, food is no longer viewed simply for nourishment, pleasure or an overly mass-produced product. Now, due to global industrialization, the way humans interact with food systems and production has reached a critical mass, requiring citizens of the world to consider the introduction of new methods, technological systems and research that will enable cultures to remain healthy and viable in the unforeseeable future.
GLIDE’12 aims to address a range of critically important ideas relating to the globalization of food production and consumption as well as focusing on specific themes such as sustainability and systems design addressed by curated presentations from leading researchers, design practitioners, scientists, public policy makers, educators and doctoral students. GLIDE12 presenters will deliver groundbreaking topics that will inspire, motivate and expand your knowledge of global food consumption and production for nutrition and good health.
You may submit full paper proposals for synchronous presentation or poster paper proposals for asynchronous presentation on topics related to the conference theme.
