Call for Entries
Theme: A national juried show of handmade artist books–editions or one-of-a-kind–sculptural, traditionally bound, book objects, altered books and broadsides are encouraged. This show is open to a wide interpretation of the theme – tell a story or expose hidden layers; reveal emotions or make us laugh – truth or fiction. You choose!
Jurors & Awards Cash awards will be given for first, second, and third place entries. All submissions are juried by Linda Piacentini-Yaple, Sandy Anderson & Pat Clark
Submission Guidelines: Artist books, sculptural books, traditionally bound books, book objects, altered books and broadsides are accepted. All work should include text, image, printed by hand, letterpress, digitally or calligraphy techniques. No on-demand books please (Shutterfly, Lulu, Blurb, etc)
- Atelier 6000 reserves the right to refuse artwork that does not match the quality of the digital image submitted for jurying.
- Artists may submit 1-3 works for consideration.
- Wall hung artwork should be suitable for hanging: No shrink wrap. Artworks will be presented in the manner they are received.
Entry Fee $35 non-refundable fee covers up to three works. It is not a per work fee. International Artists, the entry fee must be paid in US currency.
Sales: All artworks entered must be for sale. All work is sold on consignment. The artist receives 60% of the sale price. Sale proceeds will be paid to the artist within 45 days of the close of the show.
Marketing: Press kits will be sent to local and regional traditional media. The exhibit will be publicized in Atelier
6000’s newsletter, website and on Facebook. Award winners will be featured. E-cards will be sent to participants after the jury process for your own marketing.
Digital image guidelines:
* 300 dpi; JPEG file format; with the broadest dimension being no larger than 1500 pixels
* Up to three images per book
* Your photographs are used to curate the exhibition.
* Images must be clearly titled with artist name, title of artwork, media and size. i.e. Alan Jones_Standing Tall_#1_Altered Book_6.5 x 4.0 If sending more than one image please change the number after the title of the book.
Shipping: All shipping must come through FED EX. Shipping and insurance costs to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist. Work received by mail should be packaged well enough to be returned in the same carton. Include a pre-paid FED EX return postage slip within your package.
